SMALL ACTS - BIG IMPACT

Collecting, preserving and sharing everyday stories of hope and kindness to remind us that humanity is truly alive and kicking!

What is BLK?

Big Little Kindnesses (BLK) is our project to collect, preserve and share everyday stories of hope and kindness – gentle reminders that humanity is truly alive and thriving!

We believe that even the smallest acts of kindness can create a ripple effect, inspiring others to notice opportunities to be kind and to recognise kindness in all its forms.

We’ve noticed what happens when we shift the focus to celebrating the good and positive and we want to build a collection of stories shared by friends, family, and strangers.

Everyone has a story of kindness worth telling.

You can listen to them on the Big Little Kindnesses Podcast.

About

WHY WE STARTED

The people behind Big Little Kindnesses

We are Claire and Nicola, friends for more than three decades. Based in Brighton and Bristol, we meet up as often as we can to walk on the Downs, swim in the sea and put the world to rights.

It was during these meet-ups that we began to notice the negative impact the media was having on us. We both had stories of kindness to tell and we decided it was time to redress the balance. That’s how BLK was born – as a way to share the good and celebrate the big impact of small acts of kindness.

Here we are, ready to collect and share stories that remind us that humanity is alive and thriving.

Founders of Big Little Kindnesses

To the quiet helpers.

The thoughtful strangers.

The small gestures that carry big meaning.

We’re collecting them.
We’re sharing them.
We’re celebrating them.

Because kindness matters.

"Some believe it is only GREAT POWER that can hold evil in check. But that is not what I have found. I have found that it is the small everyday deeds of ordinary folk that keep the darkness at bay. Small acts of kindness and love"

- GANDALF, THE HOBBIT -

Real stories. Real people. Real kindness.

Listen to heartfelt, honest stories shared by friends, family and strangers.

Have you experienced an act of kindness that stayed with you?

We’d love to hear it.

Stories can be anonymous if you prefer.

Kindness doesn’t just impact one person.

It spreads.

One act inspires another.
One story reminds someone to notice.
One shared moment encourages someone else to do the same.

That’s the ripple we’re building.
